According to Texas child custody laws children are entitled to a Bill of Rights that should protect a child and give them certain rights with their parents. These rules will protect children from adult conflicts.
The Texas child custody laws Bill of Rights says that a child should not be denied the use of the telephone to be able to make phone calls to the other parent and relatives that they would like to talk to.
Parents must promise never to speak bad about the other parent to the child. They will not engage in abusive and obscene language that can be overheard by the child. This can be damaging because most likely the child is sad that the two of you split up in the first place. Don’t put the child in the middle of your conflicts. This includes attempting to influence the child’s decisions or opinions of the other parent.
The Texas child custody Bill of Rights that the parents must agree to for the child’s sake also includes allowing the child to put pictures of the other parent up in their room. The child can have access to letters and cards received from the other parent and displayed in their room. The other parent cannot be invisible in the house, it is not fair. The child should have the right to have any items displayed that remind them of the other parent. The parents will respect the integrity of these items and what they mean to the child. The parents should be happy that good memories are being created.
The parents should not make judgments about the other parent also. No matter if the parent is doing something you feel is inappropriate you still should not verbally express that to the child. Keep your comments and your opinions to yourself about the other parent. It is not fair to the child if you are saying bad things.
Texas child custody laws have a child’s Bill of Rights that parents should agree to because it agrees to the respect of each parent so the child is not affected more emotionally than it already is.
